The release of the latest FIFA video game is many football fans’ highlight of the year. Every late September, avid gamers wait in anticipation to play the new release – and test out all its new features. But there’s one thing that keeps the series ticking over anything else – and it wouldn’t be the same without it. The soundtrack is the unsung hero of the football-simulator titles – and every year it throws up tunes ranging from Brazilian dance-funk to German industrial rock. There’s a problem though. XXXTentacion: Not your average Soundcloud rapper

Alright, let's be honest. Clichés are overused, but if you seriously don't know who XXXTentacion is yet, you've definitely been living under the proverbial rock. Through curiosity or through culture, you've probably seen clips of him, or at least heard the name, in the past year. X, as he is commonly known, took 2017 by storm. He's an internet sensation, whether it be through his music, his extravagant persona, his spat with the law or the video of him getting knocked out cold by a stage invader at one of his performances, last June. Despite all the controversy, and the fact that he's got a tree tattooed on the middle of his forehead, X is generally quite a normal guy. He's just got a weird name. Otherkin - OK: An album review

If you Google 'Otherkin' and click on images, you might be a bit surprised. It's the internet. It's weird. But at least it shows us that Otherkin, an rock band from Dublin, have a long way to go before they become a household name, which is undoubtedly what they'd like to do. They create rough, uncensored rock - and have just released their debut album - 'OK'. The Irish punk outfit made their way unnoticed onto the scene in 2015, releasing ‘AY AY’ as their first single and ‘The 201 EP’ – and on the 29 th September this year, their full-length, 12-track album finally hit the shelves. One of the beauties of Otherkin’s music is it’s stripped-back-ness. Yes, it’s 2017, and bands ‘experiment’, and we all love a bit of harmonica or a synthesizer here and there.
